Hydration. Solved.

Hydration Logic

Not sugar-free. By design.

Hypotonic
Low osmolality for fastest gastric passage.
SGLT1 cotransport
The joint import of sodium and glucose creates the osmotic pull for fast water uptake.
Understand hydration

Carbohydrate-electrolyte solutions enhance the absorption of water during physical exercise.

FAQ

Questions that do not fit into one claim.

What is a hypotonic sports drink?

A hypotonic sports drink has a lower osmolarity than blood plasma and contains fewer dissolved particles. This can support faster fluid uptake. OsmoCore® Pure is designed with a deliberately low carbohydrate amount to stay in the hypotonic range.

What is the difference between isotonic and hypotonic?

Isotonic drinks combine fluid and energy delivery. Hypotonic drinks contain fewer carbohydrates and focus more clearly on fast hydration. They fit situations where fluid uptake matters more than energy intake.

What is the SGLT1 transporter?

SGLT1 is a transport mechanism in the small intestine. It takes up sodium and glucose together, allowing water to follow passively. That is why OsmoCore® Pure combines sodium with a precisely dosed carbohydrate source.

What does "carbohydrate-electrolyte solution" mean?

It is the regulatory term for drinks that combine carbohydrates and electrolytes in a defined concentration. Such solutions may carry the health claim that they enhance water absorption during physical exercise.

Is water alone enough for rehydration after sport?

Water alone does not provide electrolytes lost through sweat. During physical exertion the body loses fluid and sodium. A carbohydrate-electrolyte solution can enhance water absorption.

How much sodium is lost through sweat?

Sweat contains roughly 800 to 1,500 mg sodium per litre depending on the person and intensity, and sometimes more in heavy sweaters. One serving of OsmoCore® Pure provides 459 mg sodium in 400 ml water.

Why is maltodextrin used in many sports drinks?

Maltodextrin is a readily available carbohydrate source. In hydration powders it provides glucose for SGLT1 transport. The amount can be kept deliberately low so the drink remains hypotonic.

Which hydration powder contains no sweeteners and no flavours?

Many hydration powders use sweeteners and flavours to mask electrolytes. OsmoCore® Pure deliberately avoids flavours, sweeteners and colourants.
